COVID-19. Experience in Latin America

The Andersen Employment Law (EMPLAW) team in Latin America, through its member and collaborating firms, has prepared a document that compiles an overview of the requirements and obligations that employers have in relation to the COVID-19 vaccine. Within this document, you will find general information from 17 countries that cover the most common questions, in the workplace, about vaccination:

  • The COVID-19 test and vaccination. Right or obligation of the worker?
  • The contagion or non-vaccination of COVID-19 as a cause for suspension or termination of the employment relationship

This document is available in Spanish, English and Portuguese. This publication had the participation of Andersen’s member and collaborating firms in Latin America: Andersen in Argentina, Lotti e Araújo Sociedade de Advogados Brasil, Chirgwin Chile, Central Law: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, Jiménez Higuita Rodríguez & Asociados Colombia, Andersen in Ecuador, Andersen in México, BKM | Berkemeyer Paraguay, Picón & Asociados Peru, Pellerano & Herrera Dominican Republic, Andersen in Uruguay and LEĜA Abogados Venezuela.

We trust that the information presented will help entrepreneurs in Latin America to solve the most common questions about vaccination and its effect on labor matters. We will be happy to provide further advice should you have concerns about the information published in this document.
